A. Usually same day or next day.

Q. Do you take my insurance?
A. We participate in most insurance plans. Contact your insurance provider to confirm our participation.

Q. Do your established patients get faster appointments than new patients?
A. All our patients are provided with first come first serve responsiveness. Our offices rely on our voice mail service to record, research and prepare ourselves for return phone calls to our patients. This eliminates multiple phone calls and wasting our patients’ valuable time.

A. Nurse Practitioners are an integral part of our medical team. They are fully trained in all areas of our practice and bring the unique skills of nursing to our patient experiences.

A. Yes, we treat all adult age groups 18yo and up.

Q. What hospitals do you have privileges at?
A. At this time, we offer our patients services at SSM, BJC and St. Luke’s Hospitals.

Q. When do I call your medical exchange?
A. For a true medical emergency please dial 911. Our office recommends the use of our medical exchange for contacting our medical professionals for urgent situations. Please contact our medical professionals during normal business hours for prescription renewal and medical issues that have been persistent for multiple days. Prescriptions are not renewed after hours or with the use of our medical exchange.

Q. How do I renew my prescription?
A. All renewals should be faxed to us directly from the pharmacy. Refills are not processed after hours or on weekends.

Q. Do you provide services that help with weight management?
A. Yes. We provide a complete weight management program depending on the patient’s health care status. In addition, we can help schedule an appointment with a Dietitian.

Q. What makes you different from other doctors?
A. Dr. Mark Scheperle has been practicing internal medicine in the St. Louis metropolitan area for over 25 years and founded University Club Medical in 1995. Our practice is proud of its approach to medicine by using integrative and complementary Eastern and Western philosophies of medicine. Our medical staff works as a treatment team with our patients and their loved ones.

Dr. Scheperle is an associate professor of clinical medicine with Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Scheperle provides their patients hospital services with the Barnes – Jewish Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, and SSM.

Q. What if I do not have health insurance? May I still make an appointment with a physician or nurse practitioner at University Club Medical?
A. Yes. The charge per visit for uninsured patients is based on a discounted rate.

Q. Is there a “no show” fee?
A. Yes. Unless we are notified in advance (by voicemail is fine; preferable at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment), you will be charged a $50 fee for not keeping your appointment and for not informing us ahead of time with reasonable good judgment; unless that is, based upon our discretion and evaluation, you possessed a valid excuse for missing (e.g., your car broke down or you were in an accident and/or other serious impediment precluding your arrival; in which event we further reserve the right to request proof of the stated reason(s) for missing your appointment to avoid any fee).

Q. Is there a “grace period” before my appointment in case I am running a bit late?
A. Yes – You have a 10 minute grace period; for example if your appointment is at 11:15 and you arrive at 11:25, you are fine. But no later than 10 minutes from the scheduled beginning of your appointment will be tolerated under most circumstances. If indeed you are later than 10 minutes in arriving for your scheduled appointment, University Club Medical reserves the right to assess the $50 “no show” charge, and to reschedule your appointment for a future date and time accordingly. We have this policy in an effort to stay on time for our patients.
